燃气闸阀是一种安全阀，被安装于各处污煤气、洁净煤气管路中作闭路设备，主要用于冶金、制焦、煤气、化工等企业煤气管线的启闭控制。燃气闸阀闸板为楔式双闸板闸阀对密封面楔角的加工精度要求较低，容易密封，温度变化不易造成卡住房和擦伤，密封面磨损后维修方便，但结构较复杂、零件较多，阀门的体形及重量较大。

      燃气闸阀相比于其他闸阀有其自己**有的特点：

      1、燃气闸阀阀体底部设有排渣孔，便于排除污垢。阀体内部介质通道是直通的，介质流经闸阀时不改变其流动方向，因而流动阻力较小。介质可从闸阀两侧任意方向流过，均能达到接通或截断的目的。

      2、燃气闸阀均为明杆闸阀，阀杆带动闸板一起升降，阀杆上的传动螺纹在阀体外部，因此，可根据阀杆的运动方向和位置直观地判断闸板启闭和位置，而且传动螺纹便于润滑和不受流体腐蚀，但它要求有较大的安装空间。
